Nechia & Frankie
Weddings , August 18, 2017
My second wedding photography shoot at the Keltic Lodge in Ingonish, Cape Breton had me spending the day with a really special couple. Nechia and Frankie had come from Toronto, Ontario and had brought much of their friends and family to experience the beauty and warmth of Cape Breton. The wedding had lots of highlights that other couples might have seen as disasters but Nechia and Frankie saw them as amusing memory building moments. For starters the four flower girl dresses were accidentally left behind in Toronto, but in a act of kindness typical of Cape Breton, local folks went about the community and found four matching dresses that were a perfect fit. Then there was the first kiss that happened five minutes before it was supposed to. Very funny. Finally there was the rain. So. Much. Rain. I’ve been a wedding photographer on rainy days, but this day absolutely poured non-stop all day. As a result we had a few less images then I would have had at the end of the day, so I made myself available for a beach portrait session two days later and Nechia and Frankie took me up on the offer, resulting in some of my favorite couple portraits ever.
