Ian and Sara-Jane Elope in Ingonish, Cape Breton
I have so much to say about being the photographer for the wedding of Ian and Sara-Jane in Ingonish, Cape Breton. I was excited as soon as I knew we were headed to the Keltic Lodge in Ingonish, Cape Breton.. especially where as I’d never been north of Bedeck before. Wow was I in for a surprise! I was yelling in surprise the whole drive! It was absolutely shockingly beautiful, and I have plans to drive back there in just a few days.
Now, back to the couple. I had met Ian and Sara-Jane two days earlier at the Townhouse Brewpub in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. They immediately struck me as grounded and very much happy together. I also noticed they had a keen interest in things that were genuine and true, and they seemed to know each other really well. The couple, both from Manitoba, had decided to elope, and I was keenly excited to photograph a wedding with just the couple.
After a beautiful ceremony that took hold as the day’s rain began to dissipate (seemingly for the wedding and portrait shoot), the lovely officiant (who’s name I hope to share here soon as she was especially lovely) took as to a cove that was beyond description (you’ll have to see the photos I guess 🙂 ). She had in fact grown up at the very location, and I think we were all extremely fortunate to have her local knowledge and generosity for showing us the spot!
I’m so excited to share these photos, so I’m going to get right to it!
